Below you will find some of my favorite must-have tools and supplies for whipping up meals for my family.

Our Kitchen Must-Haves!

Here are my personal favorite kitchen gadgets and tools:

  • Instant Pot Duo 6 Quart - The first Instant Pot I bought myself. It has been used nearly every single day since I first purchased it. I also bought two more to give as gifts.

  • Instant Pot Duo 8 Quart - Shortly after owning one, I decided to buy myself another one that was bigger. That way I could cook larger items/volumes and/or run two Instant Pots at the same time (which I do numerous times per week).

  • KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer - After agonizing after which color to buy, I opted for Aqua Sky, which was a great choice considering I also managed to score a $0.01 cutting board in the sale section in the exact same color!

  • Vitamix Blender - After killing two Blendtecs, I've made the switch to Vitamix and it is definitely superior!

  • IKEA Cheese Grater Containers with Lids - We received these as a bridal shower gift almost 20 years ago and they're incredible. I absolutely love them! All other graters are inferior. (Sorry, it's true).

  • Orange Peeler Tool - Once upon a time, a box of oranges from Costco came with a free orange peeler tool. It's the only time my oranges have come with a free accessory like this, but, my goodness, it is such an underrated tool. It makes peel oranges a breeze! I also love to use it to scoop out mini meatloaves and other odd jobs around the kitchen.

KitchenAid Attachments We Use & Love

Of course, we also have some of the extra accessories and attachments to go with our stand mixer, including:

  • KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment - Do I use this to make actual ice cream? Nope, but we use it all the time to make slushies! When not in use, it lives in our freezer, ready to go for the next time we need a cool treat.

  • KitchenAid Stand Glass Mixer Bowl - It was quite the adventure getting this particular bowl as the package was stolen from my front step five minutes after being delivered! But, thanks to our awesome security cameras - and them reversing into my driveway with their license plate on full display! - the culprits got caught and were charged. And I eventually got a replacement bowl for the one that was stolen.

  • KitchenAid Pouring Shield - My kids and husband remember to use it all the time, but not me...I like to live dangerously (and apparently clean up more messes!). Should I use this more? Probably.

Ceramic Dishes Used on this Website

A lot of the plates and dishes featured in photographs are handmade by my mom, Susan Robertson. You can check out her work at Susan Robertson Pottery.

She has even made me special bowls, plates, etc. with the Hurry Up, I'm Hungry! stick figure chef on them so you will eventually see those featured in blog posts. You know, when I get around to updating this website more frequently...
