This is the best banana bread recipe ever (or at least, it's the only one I ever make). It's full of chocolate chips and nuts, uses no butter and two bananas, and is ridiculously simple to make.
My husband isn't too big on sweets.
But he sure does love banana bread, which is a good thing considering my natural affinity for collecting rotten bananas...
This ridiculously easy banana bread recipe with chocolate chips and nuts is my go-to for cleaning up my stash of rotten bananas.
How Do You Like Your Banana Bread...With Nuts or Chocolate Chips?
Now, when it comes to banana bread, are you team chocolate chips or team nuts?
Like come on, this is a very serious question here...
Some members of my family prefer nuts and some prefer chocolate chips.
My solution to pleasing all is to add both. It's like getting the best of both worlds. A bit salty, a bit sweet. Delicious either way really.
A Quick Banana Bread Recipe Without Butter
There's a million different ways to make banana bread it seems...
Some want it without butter. Some with baking powder instead of baking soda. Some with nuts, some with chocolate chips (see discussion above), and some with neither (those people are weirdos, sorry).
This no butter banana bread recipe uses two bananas and can use oil or applesauce. I've done it both ways and they both turn out great. No noticeable different in taste either.
But I think we can agree that banana bread is the best way to use up rotting bananas, right?
Even if it's not particularly photogenic...🤷♀️
You'll Love this Banana Bread Recipe!
So here's why you'll want to hurry up and try this banana nut chocolate chip bread:
- It's a good way to use up those bananas rotting away on the counter. You know, the ones your kid insisted you buy, promised to eat, and then only took one bite...yeah, those ones.
- It's delicious served warm or cold, with or without butter. I'm a without butter kind of gal, while my husband loves it smothered in butter.
- Quick and easy to make.
- It's versatile! You can substitute the oil for applesauce to add more fruits. Or sneak in a tablespoon of hemp heart seeds or flax seeds and the kids won't notice. I promise. I've played around with this recipe so many times and it tastes good regardless of the substitutions I make.
- The recipe has never failed me. Except that one time when I completely forgot to add baking soda and it fell flat...Sorry I ruined dessert, Liska and Jeffrey. 🤦♀️
